The term "specialty coffee" not only refers to just the coffee itself, but includes all the aspects, activities, techniques and the experience that surrounds a great cup of coffee.  Specialty coffee starts with the seed, a particular varietal planted in a particular region, and includes every step of the coffee process, from growing, harvesting, roasting and brewing.

theartFor some of us, getting our day started without at least one dose of caffeine is as unthinkable as showing up at work without clothes on. What do you do when time just doesn't allow for a stop off at your local coffee house?  You make your joe at home, but it never seems to taste as good... isn't coffee just a simple infusion of hot water and ground coffee?  The ritual of preparing and enjoying a great cup of coffee is one of life's simplest pleasures.  Preparing coffee is actually a lot like cooking with fresh produce; start with the best, freshest ingredients, take care to do it well, and the results will be delicious! You will never go back to stale, supermarket coffee.
